Mon cher Clém.

My first trip to Paris. February 2015. I fell in love instantly. I was finally there and could eat all the croissants I wanted. (Won't mention how many I ate per day, but it's above 5.) It was cold and windy, but I didn't care. I was there!! I spammed all my friends with pictures saying "Look, omg, look. Omg. Loooook!!!!"

Two nights before leaving I met Clément. I was with another Romanian friend in a bar and asked him to join our table. We were in a rather amusing situation: I was speaking in Romanian, she translated into French, then Clem responded back in French, she was translating for me in Romanian. It went on like this for two hours. I don't remember what we talked about, but it was a fun night out.

Clément insisted we keep in touch via Facebook. "Sure", I said, "but don't see the point really...It's not like I'm gonna fly back and forth from Romania." He smiled and responded that it doesn't matter if we don't see each other anytime soon. I should remember that I "made a friend here".

Fast forward September 2017, I texted him asking if he's in Paris in the next days, as I will be visiting my Romanian friend again. "I will make time for you, my dear Ioana. I'm happy to see you again."

So we spent a day together, eating delicious food, walking around, laughing and agreeing that although it's been more than two years since we last met, the connection is not lost. We keep in touch via social media, we know about each other's life, we always talk on Christmas and on New Year's Eve. But now we're more than Facebook friends.

Today is about you - the handsome, funny, kind, smart and charming guy, who deserves the very best. Joyeux anniversaire, mon bon Clément!
